The Diabetes and Heart Disease Connection

Four of the top ten most expensive health conditions to U.S. employers are high blood pressure, heart attacks, diabetes, and chest pain. All of these are related to heart disease and stroke.

Two out of every three people with diabetes are unaware of their increased risk for heart disease. Include heart disease and stroke prevention benefits and services as part of your work site diabetes prevention and management program.

About 65 percent of people with diabetes will die from a heart attack or stroke, so it's important to educate your employees about the diabetes and heart disease connection. Click on the resources below to learn more.
